My professional objectives all relate to the development of algorithms, software, and technology which facilitate human endeavour. I am particularly interested in applications that have a positive impact on society. Our capacity to collect data often exceeds our capacity to analyse and make sense it. This is where my skill set is particularly useful - I specialise in complicated and challenging data analysis problems and enjoy developing the methods and tools to solve them. Areas of active research over the past few years include:
- Agriculture: Aerial Fertiliser Application, Drought Management, Irrigation, Pest Species, Remote Livestock Monitoring, SMART FARM sensor networks.
- Ecology: Biological Invasions, GPS tracking, Mammal Conservation.
- Human Health: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cancer, Human Performance, X-ray Imaging.
No doubt there is a wider range of application opportunities on the horizon.
